Collaborative Project between Akune City and Nijisanji
Akune City in Kagoshima Prefecture has announced a collaboration with the VTuber/Virtual Liver group “Nijisanji“. In this project, “#Yokato Akune”, popular streamers from Nijisanji will participate to promote the charm of Akune City nationwide through various events. Akune City has long been a vital hub for marine and land transportation and is a port town rich in beautiful nature and delicious local products. However, concerns about population decline due to low birth rates and an aging population persist, making this collaboration an attempt to address such challenges.
Showcasing Attractions through Live Streaming and Stamp Rally
From Nijisanji, Sakayori Soma and Nanase Suzuna from the VTuber unit “Speciale” will participate to introduce Akune City’s delicious local specialties and tourist spots through live streaming. The collaborative live stream will begin on Thursday, November 20, 2024, at 9 PM, followed by a stamp rally that will run until Sunday, December 21. During the stamp rally, participants can take photos with life-size panels of streamers set up at famous spots in Akune City and have the chance to win local products by collecting stamps.

Survey Campaign Open to Everyone
As part of this collaboration, a survey campaign that viewers can enjoy will be conducted. By participating in surveys conducted during the live stream, viewers will have a chance to win prizes in a lottery-style event, making it enjoyable even for those living outside the region.
Feedback and Future Prospects
The collaboration between Akune City and Nijisanji is a noteworthy initiative for new community revitalization methods. By utilizing the innovative medium of VTubers, the appeal of Akune City can reach young people who have been difficult to engage with in the past. Moreover, the fusion of online and offline experiences allows the beauty of Akune City and its local products to be communicated to people from afar. If this initiative succeeds, similar projects could emerge in other regions, establishing a new model for community revitalization.
