The Japan eSports Union (JeSU) has announced the details of “The Power of eSports Connecting the Future – JAPAN ESPORTS CONNECT,” which will be held over two days from July 23 to 24, 2025, at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. This event, under the theme “Global Pulse: Life and Future Connected by eSports,” aims to explore the design of future societies through eSports.
Professional Players vs. Streamers Showdown
The highlight of the event will be a stage competition where professional eSports players clash with popular streamers. The competitive titles include “eFootball™,” “THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV,” “Puzzle & Dragons,” “Puyo Puyo eSports,” “Street Fighter 6,” and “Tekken 8“, all quintessential Japanese titles. Players will be divided into “TEAM MIRAI” and “TEAM EXPO,” competing for victories in each game title.
Intense Battle Venue and Participants
TEAM MIRAI will feature streamers Nephrite, Zakray, Oniya, Donpisha, and RaMu, along with players such as Udi (eFootball™), SCORE (THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV), Kaito (Puzzle & Dragons), Piponia (Puyo Puyo eSports), GO1 (Street Fighter 6), and Yojimbo BΩY (Tekken 8). On the other hand, TEAM EXPO is set to include streamers Mokou, Futon-chan, Ceros, Obo, and Yuka Kuramochi, along with Leva (eFootball™), Akira (THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV), Hirona (Puzzle & Dragons), Delta (Puyo Puyo eSports), Haitani (Street Fighter 6), and Yuu (Tekken 8).
Comprehensive Experience Zones and Exhibitions
Aside from the stage events, there will be exhibitions highlighting the history and features of eSports, as well as experiential zones where a variety of eSports titles can be played. These are designed to be enjoyable for those new to eSports, providing an excellent opportunity for participants to engage directly with the games.
