The second edition of the “Uta-Pick” contest, which invites singing videos utilizing original songs, has been announced by the dedicated song label for covers, MelodyPicks<\/a>. This contest is open to a wide range of singers, including VTubers, Vsingers, and idols, and allows participation in the form of short videos. The winner will be offered the chance to create an original song, with additional prizes including professional recording sessions and Amazon gift certificates.<\/p>\n

Overview of the Contest<\/h3>\n

To participate in “Uta-Pick”, you are required to submit a singing video using one of MelodyPicks’ original songs on either YouTube Shorts or TikTok. Participants can choose any song distributed by MelodyPicks, create a cover video, and post it on the designated platforms. Additionally, they need to follow the official X<\/a> and share the post URL on X with the hashtag “#\u3046\u305f\u30d4\u30c3\u30af”.<\/p>\n

The contest runs from March 21, 2026, to April 5, 2026, and the judging period is from April 6, 2026, to April 17, 2026. During this period, all singers can participate regardless of age or affiliation.<\/p>\n

Diverse Utilization of Cover Songs<\/h3>\n

MelodyPicks offers “Cover-Free Songs” which allow for distribution and monetization of recorded songs via Apple Music, Spotify, and other platforms. Singers can perform these recorded songs live with their own voices. Additionally, the uploaded songs can be used as “their own songs”, thus broadening the scope of creators’ activities.<\/p>\n
