PANDORA<\/a> Inc. has published fan work guidelines<\/a> for “Yohane Uka” and “Yohane Asora,” the flagship characters of “Project YOHANE,” its VTuber\/XTuber support program. In addition to general fan activities such as fan art, video posts and cosplay, the guidelines lay out an “open IP” policy that broadly permits AI generation, AI learning, model creation, original settings and modifications, and color rearrangement.<\/p>\n

“Open IP” policy that permits AI generation, AI learning, and model creation<\/h3>\n

The newly released fan work guidelines cover a wide range of activities: fan art including illustrations, manga, novels and music; posts to social media and video platforms; personally produced content such as games and MAD videos; and fan activities such as cosplay, commentary videos and introductory posts. They also extend to AI generation, AI learning, model creation, modified expressions involving costume changes and original settings, and original color creations using the official color customization tool.<\/p>\n

A notable feature is that monetization through standard platform functions \u2014 such as YouTube ad revenue or X monetization \u2014 is also permitted. This is a markedly bold stance for a VTuber IP, and the clear permission around AI-related creative activity sends a strong message to today’s creator and streamer community.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, paywalled content, continuous business use as a VTuber, and merchandising remain subject to individual approval, with PANDORA handling commercial-use requests from individuals and companies on a case-by-case basis.<\/p>\n

Yohane Uka, Yohane Asora and “Project YOHANE”<\/h3>\n

“Yohane Uka” and “Yohane Asora” are the characters used as common avatars in “Project YOHANE,” PANDORA’s VTuber\/XTuber support program. The project is built around the vision of “a world where anyone can become a VTuber,” aiming to lower the barrier to starting V-liver activities.<\/p>\n

Both characters are designed not to be locked into a single fixed setting or expression, and are operated as “open IP” that allows a wide variety of expressions \u2014 costume changes, color rearrangements, original interpretations, world-building additions, and more. Through these characters, PANDORA aims to create a new form of IP in which companies, fans, creators and streamers grow the culture together.<\/p>\n

Official color customization tool and program for participants<\/h3>\n

Alongside the guidelines, PANDORA also announced an official color customization tool, putting in place a system that officially recognizes fans giving Yohane Uka and Yohane Asora their own original colors. By having the official side actively encourage modification and color arrangement, the initiative seeks to lay the groundwork for derivative creativity to spread organically within the community.<\/p>\n

“Project YOHANE” has also been opening up: from February 2, 2026, the program \u2014 until then primarily run for talents \u2014 has been opened to general participants. It has been redesigned as an audition-based program for applicants aged 18 or over, regardless of gender, streaming experience, or face reveal, with successful candidates progressing through a document screening and online interview before starting V-liver activities centered on the common V-model “Yohane Uka,” with full support. Participation is free of charge, and applications will close once capacity is reached.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead<\/h3>\n

PANDORA says it will continue to build an environment where more people can take part in creative activities with peace of mind, through the operation of these guidelines. The company plans to keep advancing IP operations that allow co-creation with diverse participants including creators, fans, streamers and developers. The spread of the official color customization tool, the growth of derivative work within the community, and the ramp-up of Project YOHANE participants’ activities are all worth watching as movement that stems from this guideline.<\/p>\n

Impressions and outlook<\/h3>\n

Guidelines that explicitly permit AI generation, AI learning and model creation for a VTuber IP are still rare, and the most striking aspect here is how the philosophy that “a character should not be locked inside a single company as its sole possession” has been implemented in concrete form, through both the guidelines and the color customization tool. Fan-made AI models, LoRAs and original-color characters should be easier to circulate, while keeping commercial use under individual approval is a reasonable design choice for balancing openness with rights protection.
