Nara Prefectural Public Relations VTuber “Nanaka” Role

Nara Prefectural Public Relations VTuber “Nanaka” has been appointed as the Nara Prefectural Public Relations Ambassador for the “Reiwa 8th National High School Comprehensive Athletic Festival (hereafter, Kinki Sport 2026)” to be held in six prefectures of the Kinki region in 2026. “Nanaka” was created to disseminate information to the younger generation aged 10 to 30, and engages in activities to communicate the charm of Nara Prefecture in an approachable manner. With this ambassador role, Nanaka aims to foster enthusiasm for the event and boost the overall mood of supporting high school athletes throughout the prefecture.

New Design and Support Activities

As part of her ambassador activities, Nanaka will wear a new outfit, and four new illustrations featuring her holding cheering goods have been newly created. These illustrations have been produced by the Nara Prefectural Executive Committee for the Reiwa 8th National High School Comprehensive Athletic Festival, incorporating feedback from members of the “VTuber Nanaka Utilization Promotion Project,” and will be used for future event promotions and PR activities. There are also plans to distribute pin badges featuring the new design of VTuber “Nanaka.”

Event Competitions and Activities in Nara Prefecture

The events held in Nara Prefecture for “Kinki Sport 2026” will include four competitions: “Handball,” “Kendo,” “Tennis,” and “Naginate.” Nanaka will collaborate with the Nara Prefectural High School Activity Promotion Committee “Wasshoi Yamato” to carry out PR activities to excite the event. On November 16, 2025, at Aeon Mall Kashihara West Village, there will also be an introduction corner for each sport and planned events.

Impressions and Future Outlook

“Nanaka” plays a vital role as an important presence that enhances awareness of the prefectural government and sparks interest in the event among the younger generation through the new medium of VTubers. It is expected that through future activities, she will contribute to revitalizing Nara Prefecture and all of Japan. Furthermore, it is hoped that this will serve as an opportunity for diverse promotional activities utilizing technology to spread nationwide.
