Live2D Inc. has celebrated its 20th anniversary by launching a project themed “Shape the Future.” This initiative aims to create the future together with creators by utilizing the expressive technology that gives a three-dimensional movement to 2D illustrations that Live2D has provided. As a symbol of this, the original theme song “Shape the Future,” sung by VTuber Chima Machita, has been born.

“Shape the Future” will roll out various initiatives and content throughout the year. Aspecial website has been created to introduce details about the project, and ongoing updates about upcoming plans and the latest information will be provided. Additionally, a research report titled “Current Status of Live2D in its 20th Year,” produced in collaboration with Kadokawa ASCII Research Institute, is also available.

The Birth of the Original Theme Song

The core theme song of the project, “Shape the Future,” is produced by the Aniplex SS team, with lyrics and composition by Tomoya Tabuchi and arrangement by Shota Horie. VTuber Chima Machita serves as the vocalist, imbued with the hopes for Live2D’s future. The music video features character design by ituka, who has received awards at the Live2D Creative Awards, showcasing intricately constructed Live2D models down to the finest details.

Debut Event and Development

This music video will have its world premiere at “alive,” a Live2D creator event held in Tokyo on December 12, 2025 (Friday), and will be streamed on YouTube starting at 12:30 PM on the same day. Following this, the song is expected to be released globally on music distribution platforms.
