Shikoku Aquarium Celebrates 5th Anniversary with the 459 Kind World Project
Index
Shikoku Aquarium, located in Utazu Town, Ayauta District, Kagawa Prefecture, launched the “459 Gentle World Project” on April 5, 2026, at 9:00 AM, and announced the fifth-anniversary song “Gentle World.” This project is a collaborative initiative with eight VTubers associated with Kagawa Prefecture and the promotional ambassador of Shikoku Aquarium, “Shukokun.”
The Thoughts of Participating VTubers
The eight VTubers participating in this project each share unique perspectives to showcase the appeal of Kagawa Prefecture. For instance, SetoUsa yume communicates the charm of Shodoshima, while Kaiwagi Ayusa creates content set in Kagawa Prefecture, engaging in diverse activities. Together, they sing the fifth-anniversary song “Gentle World,” aiming to uplift Kagawa Prefecture through Shikoku Aquarium.
Anniversary Song “Gentle World” and Its Background
This anniversary song is composed by Tomokazu Yamada, who has also provided songs for idol groups such as AKB48 and Nogizaka46. The staff at Shikoku Aquarium have transformed their five years of feelings into music, creating a melody that visitors can joyfully hum. The song aims to express affection for Kagawa Prefecture and provide a space for rediscovering the region’s richness.
Why Not Visit Shikoku Aquarium?
Shikoku Aquarium is situated at the base of the Seto Ohashi and showcases approximately 400 species of living creatures with the theme of “Shikoku Water Scenery.” The exhibits go beyond just living creatures, also representing Shikoku’s culture and environment, offering new discoveries with every visit. It is easily accessible, approximately a 12-minute walk from JR Utazu Station and about a 10-minute drive from Sakaide I.C.
Impressions and Future Outlook
The “459 Gentle World Project,” celebrating the fifth anniversary of Shikoku Aquarium, serves as an excellent opportunity to collaborate with local VTubers and convey the region’s charm to many. We look forward to more events that utilize the area’s characteristics in the future. Additionally, we hope this initiative inspires other regions and becomes a model case contributing to local revitalization.
