Label Clutch Inc. operates the comprehensive music school “Music School Clutch“, which will open its fourth location in Nakano on June 1, 2026, following Omiya, Umeda, and online offerings. A former company-affiliated VTuber with over 1 million subscribers will join the teaching staff, providing specialized lessons focused on singers and VTubers, as well as a professional recording environment. Prior to the official opening, lesson reservations will begin on May 15.
Background and Goals of Expanding to the Nakano Area
Music School Clutch offers one-on-one lessons tailored to individual goals, catering to everyone from hobbyists to aspiring professionals. In February 2026, the school changed its brand name from being focused solely on voice training to becoming a comprehensive music school.
As the music culture originating from platforms like YouTube and TikTok flourishes, numerous requests for “in-person instruction in Tokyo” and “a more specialized lesson environment for online activities” have emerged, leading to the establishment of the Nakano school. The Nakano area was chosen due to its strong connection with the VTuber and singer culture and its accessibility via multiple train lines.
Direct Instruction from a Former VTuber with Over 1 Million Subscribers and Specialized Courses
The specialized lessons for “internet performers” such as singers and VTubers will be taught by top creators who have achieved over 1 million subscribers as former company-affiliated VTubers. Using the insights from the representative’s experience as a first-generation singer, proven techniques will be shared on engaging singing styles for online platforms, strategies to maintain audience attention during streams, and role-playing methodologies.
As a specialized course, lessons in composition (DTM) will be available, accommodating everything from original song creation to mixing “covers”. Participants will have the option to take these lessons alongside voice training, providing comprehensive support for the production needs of streaming content creators.
Free Equipment Use and a Recording Environment for 5,500 yen for 60 Minutes
The Nakano school is equipped with professional recording gear, and school members can use the equipment free of charge. With direction and operation assistance included, the services are available for 5,500 yen for 60 minutes. This facility can be utilized not only for practice but also for producing actual works such as “covers”.
Located a 6-minute walk from Higashi-Nakano Station on the JR Chuo-Sobu Line and Toei Oedo Line, and a 5-minute walk from Ochiai Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, the school is about a 4-minute train ride from Shinjuku Station, making it easily accessible after school or work. The latest training using acoustic analysis software is also planned for implementation.
Advance Reservations for Free Trial Lessons and Future Developments
The official opening is set for June 1, 2026, with reservations starting on May 15. Currently, advance reservations for free trial lessons are being accepted. This is aimed at those uncertain about which course suits them or who wish to discuss challenges related to their streaming activities, offering a chance for thorough counseling and to experience actual lessons.
By making a full-fledged advance into the Nakano area as the fourth location following Omiya, Umeda, and online, specialized instruction will be available near the hub of streaming culture. Moving forward, it is expected that further store expansions and a wider range of courses will be developed based on the operational know-how acquired at the Nakano school.
Reflections and Future Prospects
The presence of a former VTuber with over 1 million subscribers as an instructor is likely to add a significant level of credibility to the streamer training school. The one-stop availability of a curriculum specifically for singers and VTubers, along with a recording environment, will provide a compelling option for those looking to start their streaming activities. As the VTuber and singer culture matures, there is hope that the number of specialized schools will increase, contributing to the overall growth of the industry.
