『IDOL:UnderCode (Idol: UnderCode)』, a fan-participation IP jointly developed by PANDORA Inc. and L&L Victor Entertainment Inc., has opened an audition to recruit cast members for the six main characters of a new group, starting June 30, 2026. Applications are accepted through July 31. Successful applicants will debut as “XTuber®” talents who cross between VTuber streaming and real-world live performances.

A Next-Generation Participatory IP Where Fan Passion Drives the Story

『IDOL:UnderCode』 is a new IP project that fuses the latest AI animation technology with TikTok LIVE. Real-time dialogue between characters and fans during streams is elevated into animated stories through AI technology, so the passion of each individual fan shapes the fate of the characters.

The project links “anime,” “VTuber,” and “games” within the same world and the same timeline, building stories together with fans. Selected applicants will debut as “XTuber®” talents who act as the cast of each character, crossing the boundary between the virtual and the real.

From No Experience to the World: Recruiting 6 Main Cast Members for the New Group

This round recruits six characters: Amane Runa, Momose Kokoro, Asakura Misora, Oribe Tsumugi, Nanase Juri, and Amamiya Mio. In addition to streaming as VTubers, the project plans a wide range of activities going forward, including live shows, events, animation, music, and merchandise. Even those with no experience will be evaluated with an emphasis on enthusiasm and potential.

Generous Support for Successful Applicants

During the two-month training period, participants attend a designated studio for 80 hours over 20 days to learn streaming know-how, and a monthly compensation of ¥100,000 is guaranteed for this period. A full set of equipment needed for streaming, such as a PC, microphone, VTube Studio, and a virtual avatar, is provided free with zero upfront cost. There is also a slot to receive free lessons as a scholarship student at the practice-focused training school “LLV ACTORS LABO (LAL).”

Schedule Ahead

For the selection flow, applications close on Friday, July 31, 2026, document-screening results are announced on Friday, August 14, and the final review is scheduled for Saturday, August 29. The training period is expected to run in October and November, with participants attending a studio in Tokyo for four hours a day over 20 weekdays to learn streaming skills. Applications are accepted via the application form or by LINE application.

The design, in which not only “performance” but fans’ dialogue and passion update the story itself through AI, is an attempt to rethink the boundary between VTubers and anime.
