Shueisha Inc. has launched a special collaboration event with the major VTuber agency “Hololive Production” titled “Comic Summer Party! — Summer Celebration Grand Strategy” on July 1, 2026 (Wednesday), to commemorate its 100th anniversary. A dedicated collaboration page has been set up within the “SHUEISHA MANGA EXPO” special site, featuring special talks between manga artists and talents, a curated 100-book recommendation project, and more, with content rolling out in phases.

Manga Artist × Hololive Talent Special Talks

One of the headline events is a cross-talk series between Hololive talents and popular manga artists. Two pairs of special talks will be released in July.

The first features Yuzuki Choco in conversation with Arina Tanemura, the manga artist currently celebrating her 30th anniversary with an original art exhibition. The second pairs Laplus Darkness with Kuwahara, the creator of the hit youth band manga “Futsuu no Keionbu” (An Ordinary Light Music Club). Fans can look forward to behind-the-scenes stories, creative insights, and personal episodes.

7 Talents Pick Their Favorites in ‘My 100-Book Shelf’ Weekly Series

Another highlight is the “My 100-Book Shelf” project. Under the theme “If you had a bookshelf that could only hold 100 books, what would you put in it?”, 7 manga-loving Hololive talents will each share their personally curated 100-book selections on a weekly rotating basis.

The participating talents are Himemori Luna, Shirakami Fubuki, Omaru Polka, Takane Lui, Hakui Koyori, Ichijou Ririka, and Rindou Chihaya. These bookshelves, filled with each talent’s love for manga, are sure to introduce fans to new titles and hidden gems.

Hoshimachi Suisei and Houshou Marine Contribute to ‘My Recommended Reading’

The essay-style contribution series “My Recommended Reading,” featuring prominent figures from various industries, includes entries from Hoshimachi Suisei and Houshou Marine. Both talents share manga that are “memorable to them” and “titles they want people to read now,” complete with personal commentary that reveals their personalities.

SNS Campaign for Limited-Edition Library Cards

During the collaboration period, an SNS campaign is running where participants can post photos of their bookshelf featuring recommended Shueisha titles with the hashtags “#ホロと祝う集英社100th” and “#私の珠玉の本棚” for a chance to win limited-edition “Shueisha 100th Anniversary × Hololive Production” library card net gifts.
