The “Nijisanji 7th Anniversary Festival” (commonly known as Nijisanji Fes 2025) was held over five days from February 20 (Thursday) to 24 (Monday), 2025, at Makuhari Messe. As one of the largest VTuber events in the world, the festival drew massive crowds of fans.

In this report, two members of the Stomaga editorial team share the atmosphere and highlights from the venue!

A Venue Overflowing with Fan Love

The first thing that caught our eye upon entering the venue was the sheer number of attendees wearing their oshi’s signature colors. Young women made up a large portion of the crowd, many carrying ita-bags decorated with pin badges, while others went all-in with hairstyles and outfits coordinated to match their favorite Livers. We also spotted plenty of fans who had dressed up their “Nijipuppet” plushies in special Nijisanji Fes outfits!

The Feeling of Livers Being “Right There”

One of Nijisanji Fes’s greatest appeals is the multitude of experiences that make you feel closer to the Livers. While you cannot physically shake hands, the event is packed with setups that create the sensation of them being right in front of you. The radio booths allowed real-time back-and-forth interaction with Livers, the “Audio-Visual Room” attraction offered one-on-one sessions, and AR photo spots were available throughout the venue.

Scattered throughout the venue were handwritten doodles and signatures from Livers. There were even booths where you could view their personal belongings, calligraphy works, and sample their favorite perfumes. Through this layered collection of touches, the event created a powerful sense of the Livers “being there,” even in a physical space.

An Encounter with Nazo no Mito

While walking around the venue, an unsettling atmosphere suddenly crept in. What appeared was the Nijisanji Fes staple: Nazo no Mito! Known for crashing Tsukino Mito’s streams, this eerie character’s presence was so magnetic that before we knew it, we were chasing after her.

We Want to Go Again Next Year!

Nijisanji Fes 2025 was a tremendously enjoyable event — not only for fans with a dedicated oshi, but also as an opportunity to discover new Livers.

Given the venue’s enormous size and the sheer volume of content, it is nearly impossible to see everything. We recommend checking your oshi’s schedule in advance and prioritizing accordingly! Here are some tips for enjoying it even more next year:

• Check your oshi’s schedule and plan your route in advance!
• You will use your smartphone frequently, so bring a portable battery!
• There is a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and easy-to-move-in clothing!
• Watch some streams beforehand to prepare — it makes the experience even more enjoyable!
