Illustrations Drawn Specifically for the Project
The jackets feature six popular talents from hololive, the VTuber group under hololive production — an agency with a combined fan base of more than roughly 70 million on YouTube. Each design uses an illustration drawn specifically for this project.

The front of each jacket carries patches and embroidery based on motifs associated with the talent, while the back features the newly drawn illustration at a large scale. Lettering with the talent’s name runs along the sleeves, and the color blocking and panel construction follow classic sukajan conventions.

All six are priced at 33,000 yen (tax included) and come in five sizes: M, L, LL, 3L and 4L. The published images show designs still under supervision and may differ from the final products.
Samples on Display at Tokyo Game Show 2026
The jackets will be displayed at Caitac Family’s BLACK BALLOON MARKET booth (Hall 9, 09-W13) during Tokyo Game Show 2026, held at Makuhari Messe from Thursday, September 17 through Monday, September 21, 2026.
Business days run 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17 and Friday, September 18. Public days run 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20, and 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21 (a national holiday). This year’s Tokyo Game Show has seen a run of streaming-related official programs and exhibits, further widening the overlap between gaming and streaming culture.
Online-Only Pre-Orders, With Overseas Purchasing Supported
Pre-orders are handled exclusively through the BLACK BALLOON MARKET online shop, with no on-site sales at the event venue. Orders are scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, the same day the event begins.
Overseas customers can order through the English-language sales page via World Shopping. Purchases are unavailable in some countries and regions, so checking the Global Shipping Guidance is recommended. Any change to the scheduled sales time will be announced on the shop’s NEWS page and official social accounts.
Analysis and Outlook
Putting VTuber illustrations on a sukajan — arguably the most distinctly local item in Japanese street fashion — has a different feel from a straightforward extension of character merchandise. The 33,000 yen price point is not a casual purchase, but it is reasonable for a sukajan built with embroidery and patchwork, and it signals an intent to make these garments rather than goods. Opening pre-orders on the same day the jackets go on display at Tokyo Game Show also suggests a desire to let buyers see the real thing first. For hololive, whose audience skews heavily international, the readiness of cross-border sales through World Shopping is another detail worth noting.
