An entertainment show digging for rough diamonds hidden online

“Yofuke no netgod” is an entertainment program that sets out to unearth the rough diamonds of the next generation of internet stars. The first episode follows the cast as they search for unknown talent inside VRChat and put those performers on stage.

According to the production team, the title reflects the idea that the internet burns hottest late at night, and that the next “netgod” might emerge from the sleep-talk-like flashes of inspiration and unpredictable energy born in those hours. Shining a light on personality and expression that cannot be measured by titles or track records is the concept running through the entire show.

Official accounts have been opened on YouTube, as well as on X and TikTok. The production team notes that release dates and content may change without prior notice.

Tontsukatan Morimoto serves as the host, and a team of comedians and streamers including Omatcha joins him. The group travels around VRChat looking for participants with a strong sense of individuality.

Through spontaneous conversations and back-and-forth banter, the cast draws out what makes each participant appealing and scouts the talent they want to see on stage. Any genre goes — singing, rapping, dancing, impressions, talk, or one-off gags — and the highlight is the free-form expression each participant delivers through their own avatar and personality.

Whoever survives the fierce competition will receive the title of the first netgod along with a modest prize. Filming takes place at Virtual Sanrio Puroland, capturing the moment a chance encounter in VRChat turns into the next internet star.

The immersive content BEverse has built so far

BEverse is the next-generation content label of Brave group, a company that develops IP content, discovers and nurtures content creators, and produces marketing campaigns.

Its past work in planning and producing immersive content includes the original Roblox title “Ao Oni Nightmare,” the original Fortnite title “Kyoufu no Mori -Liar In The Dark-,” and the VTuber project “GΔ59” under the Tokyo Kasou banner. In June 2026 the label also held “BEYOND VTuber Audition 2026” in search of new talent, making talent discovery an ongoing theme for BEverse.

The label says it will draw on Brave group’s global marketing expertise to grow Japan-born IP into global content for fans around the world, while pursuing multifaceted rollouts that combine production capabilities from inside and outside the group.

What comes next: three straight weeks of releases from September 16

The release schedule calls for two episodes on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, one on September 23, and one on September 30, for four episodes in total. Because the premiere drops two episodes at once, viewers can get a feel for the show’s world in one sitting.

Given that the first episode is set in Virtual Sanrio Puroland, the venue and theme could well change in later episodes. Further updates are expected to be announced on the official YouTube channel and the show’s social media accounts.

Our take

Audition programs usually start with applications and a paper screening, but this show rebuilds the entry point of discovery itself: you find talent by walking around VRChat. The design means someone with no track record at all can still be scouted on the strength of their personality and the energy of the moment, which could become a new doorway for anyone thinking about starting to stream. With comedians and streamers playing off each other in the same space, it is worth watching as a case where VTuber and streaming culture meets TV-style variety production. We are looking forward to the September 16 premiere and to seeing what kind of rough diamonds turn up across the four episodes.
