“VTuber Shisatsutai” Travel Report Released, Covering 4 Cities Including Tokushima and Hiroshima
Index
Asukanet, Inc. has published a travel report compiling Vol.1 through Vol.6 of “VTuber Shisatsutai,” a series project in which VTubers visit tourist destinations across Japan to share the appeal of each region. Spanning Tokushima City, Hiroshima City, Tatebayashi City, and Hanamaki City, the report documents the outcomes of regional tourism promotion that blends real and virtual elements, with the company stating that it intends to continue rolling out the initiative nationwide.
What is “VTuber Shisatsutai”?
“VTuber Shisatsutai” is a series project run by Asukanet as a way of leveraging VTubers for regional tourism promotion. VTubers walk the streets of each city in person, meeting locals, sampling regional cuisine, and experiencing scenery that can only be seen on the ground — delivering the real-life appeal of each destination to viewers across Japan.
The campaign aims to communicate the charm of regional tourism to a wide audience, including digitally native generations who have a strong affinity with VTubers. From 2024 to 2026, the project has visited four cities, and this latest release packages the work spanning Vol.1 through Vol.6 into a single report.
Footprints of Inspections Across 4 Cities
In Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture, Vol.1 featured Utayo Pome, Makami Hare, and Mikakunin Doubutsu Umapi, while Vol.5 featured MEDA and XIDEN — visiting the city that also hosts Asukanet’s “Awa VTuber Fes.”

In Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Vol.2 featured Nanashino Sayo and Mikakunin Doubutsu Umapi, while Vol.3 featured Makenashi Gununu and Amazura Sumoa, walking the streets of Hiroshima — the home of the “Origami VTuber Fes.” Vol.2 was carried out as an official project with the Hiroshima Prefectural Tourism Federation, introducing the prefecture’s appeal across a two-day, one-night itinerary.

For Vol.4 in Tatebayashi City, Gunma Prefecture, virtual private detective Hanagumo Kuyuri inspected the city, which was also hosting the “Men-1 Festival.” In Vol.6 in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, Yukami Kurena and Tsukikusa Kanade visited Hanamaki, a city closely associated with the author Kenji Miyazawa. Reports for each volume are available on platforms such as the Maple Meet official site.

Promotional Impact and Expanding Regional Partnerships
Reports from each city have been published on social media and the official website, drawing wide attention as VTuber-driven content distinct from traditional tourism promotion. The approachable style unique to VTubers has helped surface new target audiences — particularly on social media — and strengthened outreach to younger demographics.
Through the initial three-city run, the company says it has seen a growing number of collaboration cases with local governments and tourism associations. A new communication model that pairs regional tourism resources with VTuber content is gradually taking root in different parts of the country.
What’s Next, and the 3rd Origami VTuber Fes
Asukanet plans to continue this initiative on a nationwide scale, building out a new communication model that combines regional resources from local governments and tourism associations with VTuber content. As an effort contributing to regional revitalization, the project is exploring expansion beyond live events into fields such as tourism, education, and human resource development.
As the fifth installment in the series, the “3rd Origami VTuber Fes” is scheduled to take place in Hiroshima Prefecture in August 2026. A music live event will be held at a venue in Hiroshima City on Saturday, August 29, followed by a fan meeting titled “Marine de Meet” in Hiroshima City on Sunday, August 30. Inquiries about using VTubers in tourism promotion are also being accepted at the Maple Meet free consultation desk.
Impressions and Outlook
VTuber-led regional tourism promotion is gaining momentum as a way to reach younger audiences who rarely engage with traditional tourism information. The simultaneous release of reports covering multiple cities also makes it easier for local governments to picture concretely “what VTuber initiatives can do for our region.” Because pairing local areas with VTubers can directly drive fans to travel out to those destinations, it will be worth watching which regions step up next, and with what kinds of plans.
