Street Fighter 6: Haitani Joins Auto-Commentary and “V Rival Match,” “Get Ready for Ingrid!” Pass Goes Live

Capcom Co., Ltd. has launched the “Get Ready for Ingrid!” Fighting Pass for its head-to-head fighting game Street Fighter 6 at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026. On the same day, an update went live that adds Haitani — a popular streamer with esports team REJECT — to both the Auto-Commentary feature and the single-player mode “Take on a Special V Rival!” Together, these moves set the stage for the upcoming arrival of new character Ingrid.

What’s Inside the “Get Ready for Ingrid!” Fighting Pass

New character Ingrid is set to join Street Fighter 6 on Thursday, May 28, and the “Get Ready for Ingrid!” Fighting Pass kicks off the build-up. This pass features Manon’s Outfit 3 EX1 color, dressed in a glittering ball gown, alongside Marisa’s Outfit 2 EX1 color, decked out in a bold light-purple suit — costumes designed to evoke a grand ballroom.

The lineup also includes the “Big Bang” intrusion effect that players can customize for their online matches, plus intrusion visuals featuring a smiling Luke and a sharp-eyed Alex. On top of that, the pass packs purple-toned Gothic avatar gear inspired by Ingrid, emotes, music tracks, stamps, and even the classic title Knights of the Round — making for a substantial bundle.

Haitani Joins the Auto-Commentary Feature

Another major highlight is the addition of Haitani — a popular streamer with esports team REJECT — to the Auto-Commentary feature. Auto-Commentary uses AI to react in real time to the flow of a match, hyping up battles as if you were competing in a tournament; by setting the Japanese voice from the commentary settings, players can hear Haitani’s commentary during their matches.

Often called “Haitani-sensei” thanks to his extensive coaching experience and tournament track record, his unique perspective is built to elevate every match. For fans who already watch his streams, hearing him commentate over their own matches makes for a fresh experience.

Face Off Against Haitani in “V Rival Match”

To celebrate his Auto-Commentary debut, the single-player mode “V Rival Match” — where you team up with Lifen at the Battle Hub — is also hosting the event “Take on a Special V Rival!” allowing players to face Haitani himself. “V Rival Match” pits players against virtual fighters generated by AI trained on a vast amount of play data, and the event lets you experience a simulated version of Haitani’s tournament-tested skills.

Even players who aren’t strong in head-to-head play can step in as if borrowing Haitani’s strength, with event rewards on offer. To mark the REJECT collaboration, a special potato-digging emote is also being gifted; players can claim it from NEWS and try out potato-digging in the Battle Hub a little earlier than usual. During the event period, the Battle Hub also gets a custom interior makeover.

What’s Next: May Event Schedule

May’s in-game event schedule includes, alongside the REJECT collaboration tied to Haitani’s Auto-Commentary appearance, birthday events for Alex, Zangief, and Lily. Character-limited tournaments are planned for each character’s birthday, and players can join in alongside the regular tournaments.

With Ingrid officially joining the roster on May 28, a clear roadmap is emerging — gradually building hype from the Fighting Pass introduction through to the actual launch. The latest updates are expected to be announced on the official site and official X account, so the follow-up news is well worth keeping an eye on.

Impressions and Outlook

Bringing a streamer directly into the main fighting game is a striking move, and Haitani’s appointment here is a symbolic case. Featuring him both as an Auto-Commentary commentator and as an AI-recreated opponent is a uniquely designed two-pronged setup that bridges streamers, viewers, and players. Coaching-tested commentary from Haitani also has the potential to help beginners level up — making this an update that could land for both the competitive scene and the casual audience. It will be exciting to see which streamers might be incorporated next as this kind of integration expands.
