Yoyogi Animation Academy (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Ito Taro) has announced the establishment of a new “Utaite Course” specialization within its VTuber Department. Developed in cooperation with 2.5-dimensional idol agency VOISING, the course will be available as an elective starting in the second year for students enrolling in April 2027.

Overview of the Utaite Course

The Utaite Course is an elective specialization available to VTuber Department students upon advancing to their second year. It targets students enrolling from April 2027 and offers a hands-on program covering the skills needed for careers as utaite (singing) performers and 2.5-dimensional idols.

The course launch is positioned as a synergy initiative of the Yoyogi Animation Group (comprising Yoyogi Animation Academy, VOISING, Utaite, and ASOBI GOD), which was established in March 2026.

What You Can Learn in the VTuber Department

The VTuber Department offers practical training in streaming technology, content creation, planning skills, and self-producing capabilities. The program draws on the academy’s expertise built over 48 years across 9 campuses nationwide, having produced over 120,000 graduates.

Special Instructor and Curriculum Highlights

VOISING Executive Officer Iwanaga Taiki has been appointed as special instructor. Iwanaga previously served as COO of Ichikara (now ANYCOLOR), where he was instrumental in launching the NIJISANJI project.

The program includes special lectures on utaite and 2.5D idol activities, industry lectures by VOISING affiliates, personalized feedback on student works, and networking opportunities with creators.
